Entrepreneurship and Immigration in Canada

Today, we believe we are entering the season where African entrepreneurs find their place in the Canadian economic landscape; as an African entrepreneur, we must broaden our horizons. “Africa is a cradle of hope ,” said Secretary-General António Guterres , citing “the growing number of young people” in Africa and “their dynamism ,” he said.

In this perspective, we believe that the event "OPPORTUNITÉS QUÉBEC/CONGO" takes on its full importance. The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) highlights a fact that allows us to take a completely different look at the contribution of immigration to Canada. The low renewal rate of the Canadian population 2.1 children per woman (Statistics Canada) will change the face of Canada on many levels, namely the face of entrepreneurship.

The trend is also observable on the African continent, which will be home to no less than 25% of the world's population in 2050 if the trend continues, an increase of 15% since 1950. Such growth is unprecedented.

The Business Development Bank of Canada, the bank for entrepreneurs, has looked at data on immigrant entrepreneurship and projects that:

"In ten years, half of the business owners in Ontario and British Columbia are expected to come from immigration."

Beyond partisanship, facts are stubborn; the macroeconomic challenges posed by the issue of the household reproduction rate require a frank look to identify beneficial courses of action for Canada.

This graph of the contribution of immigration to Canada's economic development is eloquent.

Event opportunities

It is with this in mind that we believe it is imperative that we seize the opportunities available to us. The "Opportunités Québec/Congo" event is another avenue that allows entrepreneurs to launch into entrepreneurship in Canada while benefiting from immigration.

"Immigrant entrepreneurship is set to become increasingly important in Canada. In some provinces, by 2034, one in two entrepreneurs will be born abroad.

For foreign entrepreneurs, this represents an interesting opportunity to develop, expand internationally and acquire new ways of doing things .

Bibliography

The entrepreneurial dynamism of immigrants could undoubtedly help our economy become more innovative and dynamic.

However, let us keep in mind that these companies face particular challenges and that they must be helped to face them.>>
